Well, I didn't do it for very long, but I was wildly successful. Of course.

Well, 'see' is a relative term, it seems.

Well, I'll know who to see if I need to update my resume again in the near future.

[Is that...a knock on your door?]

At your service, I guess. Oh? Hold on a sec, someone's at the door. Be back soon, okay?

[And she tumbles out of her bed, not exactly decent because she was about to go to sleep, but at least a tank top and shorts is clothes. Shuffling, she makes her way to the door and opens it in a bit of a haze, looking up.]

Nyaaaah? [She normally doesn't talk in cat noises but everyone has their quirks.]

[There is a brief pause, and then a familiar chuckle.]

Possibly I've wound up at the wrong house?

[For a second she laughs too, a little disbelieving. After all, it's been months and she wasn't dumb enough to actually count on him coming back. But here they were.

Aisha takes one of his hands in hers, not sure if she's going to tug him in ir just hug him.]

If this is the wrong house then I'm sorry, but I won't let you go to the right one just yet.

[Reborn doesn't look surprised, but he curls his fingers against her hand, smiling back at her.]

Well, who am I to argue with such a warm welcome?

I'll make it warmer, come in for something. I've got tea, coffee, wine . . .

[She laughs and pulls, motioning for him to come in.]

Aisha missed you. Things are a lot less . . . smug around here without you. Yeah, that's the word~

[Reborn lets her pull him in, still smiling, well, smugly.]

I can always leave, it seems I've worn out my welcome if that's the best you can come up with.

No need to be a jerk about it, General. [She is going to pout at you, sir.]

Maybe I was leaving an opening for you to . . . This kind of stuff is hard, you know? Stay with me. [Aisha stands up on tiptoe and wraps her arms around his neck, pressing close.]

[He smiles as she reaches up and wraps his own arms around her back, supporting her. There is a bare moment of hesitation before he leans down to kiss her, more a greeting than anything else, natural and sweet, teasing away the pout.]

[She gasps right before he kisses her like that, somehow still surprised by it like a fool. Then she kisses back, sweetly, happily, because she wanted him to want to kiss her. It was silly, but . . . well, she liked him. A lot, even she was a little convinced it was one-sided.

You never could tell.]

[He doesn't move very far away, his forehead pressed against hers as he smiles down at her, still holding her up.]

I think that's a better way to say 'I missed you.'

Reborn, I . . .

[She fidgets a little in his arms, something pulsing inside her. Emotion lingers in her eyes as she smiles softly.]

But I missed you more than that.

[Tilting forward again, she brushes her lips against his before kissing him deeply, with feeling. All the feeling she couldn't quite say.]

[Whatever it is Reborn is reading from her kiss he seems to keep mostly to himself, taking careful hold of her and returning the kiss, lips parting for hers as it continues.]

[Part of her hopes he's not reading anything at all. She's not sure what would be better, being rejected so coolly or being misunderstood.

Aisha doesn't really want anything but this. Just that he'll let her be like this with him, sometimes. Her lips part as well, as she sinks deeper into the kiss.]

[Once again, Reborn breaks the kiss but doesn't actually pull away, brushing their lips together one last time.]

Was there something else you needed to say, Aisha? Though I'll warn you that, in my experience: il silenzio di un bacio vale piu di mille parole.

[It's a good question. Is there something she needs to say now? She blinks for a second, then shakes her head a little.]

I don't. I'm just gonna have faith that you get what I was saying, as long as you understand it's fine. Now, would you like something to drink?

Surprise me? [It's a teasing, quiet request, but he's not planning on leaving anytime soon...]

Okay. Have a seat and wait for me.

[And she smiles and heads off to the kitchen. Aisha's absorbed in her task, heating water here, mixing things there, but eventually she comes back with two cups of hot chocolate with a touch of cinnamon. Sitting down, she holds one out to him.]

Surprised?

Pleasantly so. [Reborn murmurs and wraps his fingers around the mug, cradling it carefully in both hands before raising it to his mouth to sip.]

[She leans against him, smiling and nuzzling as she drinks her own drink. The tiredness from earlier is coming back, but she doesn't want to show it.] 's great. Sure you're used to drinking lotsa fancy stuff.

[He shifts automatically to accommodate her so that she can make herself comfortable as she settles against his body.] It's all about presentation, really. I may have had fancier drinks, but seldom have I had such an attractive accompaniment.

You use charm like other people use guns, mmmm. And you hit me with it every time. [He's as warm as her drink, and the thought makes her smile. She doesn't know what he actually does beside be the ultimate jack-of-all trades, but she does know he's considerably skilled at it.

That always charms her too.] But yeah, things are always better with good company. Aisha thinks you're pretty attractive yourself, so . . .
